VENTuRE teams members attended the 4th International Meeting of the A. Yucel ODABASI Colloquium Series, AYOCOL2022, Istanbul, Turkey, in December 2022. The colloquium was a tribute to the late Professor A. Yücel Odabaşı’s (1945 – 2009) life-long endeavours in promoting the science of Naval Architecture and in particular Naval Hydrodynamics.
‘Ship Design & Optimization and Energy Efficient Devices for Fuel Economy” was the theme of the colloquium.
As part of the colloquium, Ms Margot Cocard and Mr Roberto Ravenna (doctoral researchers from the Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering department of the University of Strathclyde) presented two VENTuRE joint conference papers: “The Effect of the Addition of Tubercles on the Performance of Moth T-foil” and “Predicting the effects of Hull Roughness on Ship Resistance using a Fully Turbulent Flow Channel and CFD” respectively.
